We live in a world driven by the pursuit of success and happiness (2 Timothy 3:2) at no defined cost, the concept of Purpose offers not simply a counter-narrative but an “original narrative” that transcends cultures, ethnicities, social norms or specific roles that are occupied by humanity. Purpose refers to the understanding and embodiment of one’s Contingency.  Like in real estate the sale of a property or the realization of obtaining a property  is contingent upon some outside factor, mainly approval of finances towards purchase of the property. If the latter portion is not in place, then the prior portion, which is “realizing a new property” never comes into reality. It “never exists”. 

However if the financial entity is in favor of the buyer and then it extends the funds for the purchase of the property the funds upon its release, has embedded within it , Purpose. Unchangeable Purpose. The buyer, however persuasive or influential, cannot change the purpose of the funds given. The Purpose supersedes the buyer because it is the External factor of the financial entity that has set course for the funds Destiny.(Its Ultimate End) Because the External entity has designed within the funds its Purpose the Eternal entity has also set the Destiny as well.

At some point all analogies breakdown… But the point is, that Purpose is embedded in the creation, creation is contingent upon a Creator therefore Purpose can only be changed or modified by the One who has issued it. Circumstances, eras, social norms, etc. have no bearing on the Purpose that the God of the Universe has embedded in your very existence. Now if you have been created with Purpose, by default  you have a Destiny set, an expected end to live towards and a Hope to persist, progress and realize your potential.

For believers, this entails a commitment to living in accordance with God’s will, as expressed through the Word of God. (The Scriptures) This way of living (walking) provides not only spiritual guideposts throughout our walk but also imbues life, strength and meaning beyond temporal accomplishments, or societal accolades deeply affecting all aspects of individual life and the human experience.

At the core of Purpose, is the revelation that each individual is created with a specific intention and set of gifts, as revealed in verses such as (Jeremiah 29:11), which speaks of a divinely ordained promise for redemption, reconciliation, prosperity and hope. Engaging with this truth encourages individuals to seek and pursue a walk that is worthy of the Lord, driven by values such as love, compassion, and service to others. Consequently, this pursuit can forge a deep-seated sense of fulfillment and coherence in life, helping people navigate through the complexities and tribulations of everyday existence (John 16:33 ) with grace and resilience.

Purpose serves as a vital compass that shapes values, behaviors, and attitudes, offering a sense of direction and fulfillment. It empowers individuals to live authentically and purposefully, impacting both personal well-being and communal harmony. By embedding one’s life within the framework of biblical teachings, believers can experience a transformative and lasting influence that transcends the superficial quests for success and happiness, anchoring their lives in enduring principles and faith.

For we are his Workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should Walk in them.
